Not in My Back Yard - The Court Says Otherwise

If you commit a crime in WELS, and that happens frequently,
you can visit your alma mater.

bruce-church (https://bruce-church.myopenid.com/) has left a new comment on your post "Voucher Students Make WELS Dependent on Tax Income...":

The WELS church and school (St. Paul's) in Cannon Falls, MN, lost its appeal of the CAPX2020 proposed power line routing. The church and school is located along the 4-lane limited access US Route 52 which cuts diagonally across the eastern US. They wanted the line to be moved westward one mile across a lake dam with parks. However, that would pretty much ruin the natural scenery there, since the existing power lines over the dam are very small compared to the big towers and lines that CAPX2020 envisions.

A similar suit involved Oronoco, MN. The townsfolk wanted the lines to be moved away from US 52 to over a dam on Lake Zumbro, where no lines crossed the river previously.

In WI the route largely follows the I-90/94 corridor even though that entails 75-miles of extra wires and towers. Thus, I think the message is clear is that if you choose to site your business or home along a major highway, don't expect power line projects to be sited in sparsely populated tourism and recreation areas since why should more natural vistas be blighted when the highway corridor is already compromised visually?:
