I don't know where he went. Why? |
Seminarians are taught to chant, "That's Arminian!" and be critical of Babtists, Evangelicals, and Pentecostals. That must be especially funny at The Sausage Factory (WELS), where the faculty members are anti-Lutheran and consider Dr. Moo from Wheaton College (Babtist) their leading expert on Bible translations. At least he has a doctorate.
Arminius criticized the rationalism of Calvin - hence the name Arminian, not to be confused with Armenian (the tacky Kardashians).
There are Arminian Babtists and Calvinist Babtists, a wide arrray, including Cal-Aminians, according to a list from Wheaton College. Let's not forget post-trib, mid-trib, and pre-trib millennialists.
Teaching comparative dogmatics is like teaching college English - everlasting job security.
The true distinction is the one most ignored - justification by faith. All the Evangelical-Pentecostals I know adhere to forgiveness through faith alone.
The Synodical Conference and ELCA leaders teach universal salvation without faith. Many of these people have no faith at all, but that is their official position and they actively oppose justification by faith while working together, cozy-like.
WELS students have reported homosexual assaults as routine at synodical schools, but WELS has no problems. Just ask them. Anyone who objects to homosexual hazing is gay. |
Not a Contradiction
Lutherans make a show of opposing the Babtists and Pentecostals while copying them in every way possible.
But a closer look is needed. The synods (99% of all nominal Lutherans) are in love with Babtist, Pentecostal, and Evangelical apostasy. The leaders really do hate traditional Evangelicals (to lump them all in one group) for justification by faith.
The Lutheran leaders really love the Fuller, Willow Creek, Trinity Divinity, Mars Hills (Bell and Driscoll versions) because they are all apostates together. Throw in Rick Warren, a closeted Babtist who really teaches justification through works.
Now add gay activism to the whole bunch as they swirl down the sewer together. Apostasy is their unifying energy, which is why they passionately hate believers.
The cleverly named Church Growth Movement has destroyed all the denominations to the right of the National Council of Churches. Those raised in traditional Baptist churches are locked in a strange trance. They have to adore such quacks as Craig Groeschel and Andy Stanley because, "Those are our guys."
Although Evangelicals are not that well organized, there is a group think that informs them -
- We are not like those bad liberals.
- We are Bible believers.
- We have to stick together against the opponents.
They take criticism of Fuller or Andy Stanley or Rick Warren as a personal attack. Does that sound like WELS and LCMS leaders? Of course it does.
Apostasy is a cancer that grows without the twinges and stabs of pain we associate with organic problems, such as bad kidneys, bad digestion, and a bad heart. Apostasy simply eats into individuals and denominations while hiding itself from view.
This trans-sexual is an ELCA pastor, which may bother WELS/ELS and the LCMS, but not enough to stop them from working with ELCA. |
