Arizona Lutheran Academy (WELS) teacher Al Just stabbed his wife to death in bed and pleaded not-guilty. He was convicted, even though the Martin Luther College president vouched for him, and a busload of WELS dones came to cheer him on. He married his children's babysitter when he was in the Big House. She left him later.
Pastor William Tabor did not pull the trigger, but he "aimed the gun," using his mistress to end the woman's life - Salem, Milwaukee parsonage. WELS let him take another call, to Escanaba, Michigan. His personnel files "disappeared," but various pastors know his non-WELS congregation warned the sect not to accept a known adulterer. His mistress went to the Big House, but he never served time in prison.
PR Director Joel Hochmuth was imprisoned for exchanging child porn files (man/boy rape videos and pictures) over the Net. He kept a stash at WELS headquarters, which was raided by the FBI.
SP Schroeder absolved Joel, and Joel pleaded not guilty. Hochmuth's high price attorney got the pornographer a very light sentence with work release. Joel continued his ways and found himself back in the slammer. WELS knew about his proclivities because Joel had already been caught by his wife and sent into counseling.
WELS Pastor Matthew Luetke was arrested for possessing and distributing homosexual child pornography recently.
